The Salina Kennel Club, along with Hutchinson and Wichita Kennel Kennel Clubs and the Wichita Dog Training Club, play host at two Clusters of dog shows. the Sunflower Cluster held in April in Wichita and the Wheatland Cluster, held in September in Salina.

The Salina Kennel Club was established in 1956, and became an AKC member in 1957. The purpose of the club is the promote the sport of purebred dogs. Members today compete in Conformation, Obedience, Agility, Flyball, Therapy Dog Work, Herding, Lure Coursing, Junior Showmanship, and a variety of other doggy activities with over 40 different breeds of purebred dogs.
